SATIRE: Instagram “Adventist” Filter Removes Jewelry
MENLO PARK, California — A new “Adventist” filter released by Instagram allows church members to automatically edit out jewelry from their pictures before posting them to the platform.
Instagram released a statement claiming that the new filter would save Adventists “hours of laborious manual editing in Photoshop before posting photos that other church members will see.”
The filter can be adjusted to allow for wedding ring display if this agrees with the theological views of the Adventist user.
Instagram is said to be working on an additional filter feature that can make any dining room spread look vegan or, at the very least, lacto-ovo vegetarian.
