14 January 2023 |
The Minnesota Conference of Seventh-day Adventists reports that Elder Daniel Honoré, recently named president of the conference, is dead.
It is with great sadness that we share this news. On Friday, January 13, 2023, Minnesota Conference President Dr. Daniel Honore, passed away unexpectedly in his home. More information will be shared as it comes available.
Pastor Honoré previously served as president of the Northeastern Conference from 2012 to 2021.
Under his leadership the conference membership grew from 50,000 to 60,000, nearly 40 church buildings were acquired, debts were liquidated and a 158-unit senior housing facility was constructed. Prior to that, he served eight years as Stewardship and Trust Services director for the conference.
He is survived by his wife, Fritze Honoré, with whom he’d recently celebrated 32 years of marriage. Fritze, MSN, is a nurse informaticist. The Honorés are the parents of three young adult sons and one daughter: Gamaliel and Nathanael, who graduated from Oakwood University, while Gabriel and Danielle continue their studies at Huntsville. According to the Minnesota Conference website,
Conference leadership is working with Dr. Daniel Honore’s wife, Fritze to arrange a celebration of Daniel’s life. Further information regarding memorial services will be released as it is available. The Conference is mourning the passing of our leader, and we ask for your continued prayers and support, especially for Fritze and Daniel’s four young adult children.
