Florida Hospital Collecting Supplies for Puerto Rico Relief
October 6, 2017: Florida Hospital has appealed to communities in Central Florida for supplies to aid in Puerto Rico hurricane relief. Critical goods such as canned food and baby supplies are sought for a collection drive on Sunday, October 8, at Calvary Orlando Church in Winter Park.
Florida Hospital and the Adventist Church are teaming up for the effort, hoping to collect truckloads to be shipped to Puerto Rico and distributed by the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA.)
A group of Florida Hospital emergency medicine physicians have been on the ground in Puerto Rico for over a week. They have been providing critical care, assessing community needs and assisting local physicians.
Florida Hospital is an acute-care, not-for-profit healthcare organization with 25 hospitals spread across Central Florida. It is owned and operated by Adventist Health System.
