Coronavirus Outbreak Forces Closure of Adventist Churches in Italy
24 February 2020 | The Italian Union of Churches Conference has asked the Adventist churches in five regions of northern Italy to close on Saturday, February 29.
The drastic action by the Adventist leadership in the country joins extreme measures taken across Italy to halt the rapid spread of the coronavirus.
Public events such as soccer games, church services, concert performances and the famous Venice Carnival have been canceled in Italy, where 229 people were confirmed to be infected by the end of today.
According to the APD (an Adventist Swiss-German news agency) Adventist leaders encouraged members to make use of Adventist streaming media services like Hope Channel Italy to meet their spiritual needs in lieu of physical church attendance.
