Anticipating AT1–June 19, 2020
We like to pride ourselves on being loving to others. But when they say unkind things to us, or express a view we take issue with, vote differently than we do, or have different color skin than we do, our love is tested. Christ asks us to rise to a higher standard than tolerance and embrace true love for our opponents and enemies. Nancy Myers introduces this edition and our message of hope by Pastor Jennifer Deans, followed by trending Adventist news by Bjorn Karlman, closed by beautiful music from Kimberley Joe, Matt, and Karissa Thompson.
Welcome to Anticipating AT1. To keep our hope alive that one day we will be back together again, we are providing virtual meetings, with a new edition every Friday. Anticipating AT1 is 10-15 minutes long, and can be viewed at any time. We hope it prompts personal reflection, and is a discussion catalyst with your family and friends as you talk with them in the safe ways you connect during these unusual times.
Discussion Questions:
1. What would it take for you to believe the best about a person or a situation instinctively, rather than believing the worst?
2. How are we denying Christ daily with our attitudes and actions? Take a careful inventory.
3. How can we pick up on ways to show true Christian love to someone in our community who has suffered or is currently suffering because of the coronavirus crisis?
Be well, and love well.
