Ugandan Adventist University Authorised to Offer PhDs
November 14, 2016: Bugema University, the Adventist institution of higher learning in Kampala, Uganda, has been cleared by the nation’s National Council of Higher Education (NHCE) to offer Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programs.
According to Uganda’s New Vision newspaper, the NHCE notice was shared publicly by University Vice Chancellor Prof. Patrick Manu at the 22nd graduation ceremony which took place November 13.
“NCHE has accepted our proposal to start our PhD programs in February next year. The areas are Educational Management, Rural Development and Environmental Management,” said Manu.
He also added that construction of a four-story science complex had begun, which will allow the university to offer science courses.
