Secrets Unsealed Cancels Conrad Vine
30 August 2024 |
In a letter to Adventist Today, in response to our report about his Northern Maine Camp Meeting sermon, AFM (Adventist Frontier Ministries) president Conrad Vine wrote that we had misunderstood his message. He explained that he was trying to keep tithe for the church, not divert it. He wrote
In this section of the sermon, I am recognizing the reality of tithe diversion that is happening right now across the NAD [North American Division. Many are refusing to return their tithes to “woke” conferences. They have lost confidence in a system that increasingly is unable to uphold what we believe. This reflects Elder Wilson’s appeal in 2023 before the GC [General Conference] Executive Committee for those administrators who do not believe what we believe in the area of human sexuality and marriage to resign, i.e., to not be paid from the tithe. … I have never proposed that tithe be diverted to other causes/entities. My proposal means that the tithe that would otherwise be “lost” to the denominational system can be gathered back into the system.
Apparently we weren’t the only ones who understood his camp meeting message as tithe diversion, however. Stephen Bohr of Secrets Unsealed has announced that their ministry is cancelling an invitation for Vine to speak at their symposium, as well. He explains that this has nothing to do with his anti-vaccination views. “…his views concerning the vaccine and how the church managed the pandemic… did not keep us from inviting him. The reason lies elsewhere.”
Recently at a lay organized camp meeting in Maine he … suggested that perhaps the time will come when the lay people will have to gather to establish a lay conference, that members would return their tithe there, and establish a committee to allocate the tithe to conferences that are faithful to scripture, and in that way the conferences, and I quote, “that go woke will go broke—very simple.” We believe that defective as it is, this is God’s church and he will take measures to correct it in his own time and way. At Secrets Unsealed we have a policy to operate with transparency and for this reason I am sharing this notice.
Commenters on Bohr’s YouTube announcement weren’t mollified by Bohr’s explanation. What follows are a few of the many comments by people who were unhappy with the cancellation:
I lost my job bc I didnt take the poison. I lost everything. If the conference does not take a firm stand for our health reform message and not double talk us, I will redirect my tithe and offering. We are not stupid Christians.
Well, [Secrets Unsealed Ministry] will not receive another penny from me. Pastor Bohr knows what it’s like to be ostracized! He should be speaking out like Dr. Vine. I am a victim of the GG and church as a result of the C-19 vac, so I know the pain of which Dr. Vine spoke. Isaiah 58:1. He is doing what the deceptive leaders failed to do.
What Dr. Conrad shared at the Camp meeting was the truth and should be preached throughout the Seventh-day Adventist Churches! God is separating the sheep from the wolves! He is revealing who is truly on His side and who isn’t! The entire world will know who’s God’s faithful Remnant Church/people very soon! He’s actually showing who they are now! Amen.
Pastor Bohr, there are many people that during the pandemic felt really betrayed by the way the church dealt with the COVID atrocities and stopped paying tithes to the church and are already returning it to ministries of their choices. We the members see where the church is going. You have been canceled yourself and know it is not from God to do this, especially when a person is telling the truth. … Thanks, Dr. Vine, for giving many SDA members a voice.
¥ou state, “God will take measures in His own time and way” to correct the issues that need to be addressed. Will God do this without using people?… Things are not right with the organized church and you know that to be true. If Jesus is returning soon, do you not believe that it is time for the sinners in Zion to be shaken out?
