Palm Scanning Identifies Patients in Adventist Health System
OCTOBER 17, 2016: A futuristic touch has been added to the patient experience at 29 of Adventist Health System’s facilities. Palm scanning biometrics technology now identifies patients in the battle to stamp out duplication and other error in patient medical records.
The Impravata PatientSecure technology allegedly does lightning-fast digital identification of patients and automatically initializes their medical records.
These measures would speed up a key portion of any hospital visit and safeguard the patient from identification errors which currently plague the industry.
AHS is one of the largest faith-based health care providers in the United States and the new patient identification technology is in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina, Texas and Wisconsin. The facilities using the technology serve 2.5 million patients annually.
