JustLove Collective Launches Advocacy Project
6 September 2026|
Press release from JustLove Collective:
JustLove Collective will launch a cluster of advocacy teams with online events on
September 7, 8, and 9. The inaugural JustLove Summit was held at La Sierra University in May,
and these new events seek to mobilize and engage Adventists and other friends for collective
justice action.
“In a time when we often feel powerless in the face of the injustices we witness or
experience, the Summit served as a beacon of inspiration,” says JustLove co-leader Dr. Dilys
Brooks. “It sparked an interest in activating change to combat injustice, igniting a flame of hope
in our hearts.”
According to Dr. Brooks, the launch of Advocacy Creation Teams (ACTs) will extend the
focal points featured at the Summit, including Anti-Racism, Environmental Care, Inclusive
Cultures, LGBTQ+ Allyship, and Community Organizing, but the invitation is open to all, not only
those who participated in the Summit.
“The ACTs launch is not merely an event, but a call to action for all of us,” observes Dr.
Brooks. “It’s an opportunity for these groups to come together, reconnect or connect, and
begin engaging on the issue collectively. The combined sharing, dreaming, learning, praying,
planning, and experiencing are what strengthen the possibilities for change. We are not alone
in this journey. We are part of a larger movement for godly justice and love.”
Since the May Summit, JustLove has been publishing Pulse, a monthly digital magazine
highlighting justice issues and resources, but has waited until the beginning of the new school
year in North America to launch the ACTs. Dr. Brooks explains that the various initiatives of
JustLove Collective (JLC) are deeply rooted in Adventist faith, and this will be central to the ACTs
launch. “This form of team-based advocacy directly reflects our Christian faith, which teaches
us to love God and our neighbors,” she says. “Our love for our neighbors compels us to see,
come close, and engage on their behalf. Engaging in a JLC ACT is not simply a social justice
initiative; it’s a spiritual journey that brings us closer to God.
“Our faith is a way of life deeply rooted in community and care for humanity, as
demonstrated in our sacred texts. Jesus, the embodiment of God’s love, responded to the
injustice in the world by coming to be with humanity, and advocating particularly for people on
the margins.”
JustLove Collective is a non-profit movement of Adventist activists dedicated to bringing
people from all walks of life together for a deep encounter that leads to action. To discover
