“Reminds me of the old joke: St. Peter is showing a new group of folks around heaven. And, of course, birds of a feather like to flock together, so he says, ‘Over there are the Anglicans, and the next street over are the Presbyterians, and the Catholics are on the other side of town next to the Jehovah Witnesses, and shhh, we’re just passing by the Adventist group now, but pass by quietly, because they think they’re the only ones here!'” –Janet Prouty Brock on Which Church Would Jesus Attend?

Which Church Would Jesus Attend?
“Reminds me of the old joke: St. Peter is showing a new group of folks around heaven. And, of course, birds of a feather like to flock together, so he says, ‘Over there are the Anglicans, and the next street over are the Presbyterians, and the Catholics are on the other side of town next to the Jehovah Witnesses, and shhh, we’re just passing by the Adventist group now, but pass by quietly, because they think they’re the only ones here!’”

EDITORIAL: The Kids Are All Right
“Agreed–nobody wants to hear the answers. When I was in high school, I was asked to be part of a Union-level discussion about youth in the church. I spent a wonderful weekend thinking, praying, and dreaming with 2 youth and Youth Directors from each of the conferences, as well as a couple of Union reps. We found a lot of clarity, hope, and communion through that conversation–particularly about how youth are seeking deeper involvement and not mere tokenism. Unfortunately, at the end, in response to our recommendation that this be a regular gathering, one of the Union reps stated that ‘you young people were only asked here so we could say we’d invited some young people. We won’t do this again.’ In the moment of truth, the highest leadership present betrayed the entire conversation they had cultivated and participated in.

“People like this are what the current political climate has produced: they define themselves by despising and putting down others.”

“Good answer. This division, separation, and superior attitude is WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!

“Several, if not all, of the pioneers’ eschatological interpretations that still make it into the ‘Revelation’ seminars need to never get out of this freezer ever again.”
