Champion of Health, Dr. Hans Diehl, Dies at 77

Dr. Hans Diehl, a pivotal figure in preventive medicine, passed away on August 2, 2023, at Loma Linda University Medical Center from an AFib-related stroke. He was 77. His fervor for healthy living and unwavering commitment to service transformed our approach to health and wellness. He founded the Lifestyle Medicine Institute, and through his groundbreaking research and publications, he significantly enhanced our understanding of the role lifestyle plays in optimal health.
Beyond his research, Dr. Diehl was renowned as a compelling author and speaker, advocating for a revolutionary shift in our perspective on well-being. His Complete Health Improvement Program (CHIP) stood as testament to his visionary approach, enabling countless individuals to significantly better their health.
Honored as “One of America’s 20 Health Superheroes,” his dedication was set to be further celebrated with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American College of Lifestyle Medicine this November. Though his absence creates a profound void in the medical community, Dr. Diehl’s legacy will continue to inspire and guide countless individuals towards healthier futures.
