Brazilian Adventist Church Offers Free Electrical Training Course

On Sunday, February 5, 2023, a church in Paraná, Brazil, gave certificates to 21 community members who successfully completed a free electrical training course, hosted on church grounds by electrician Jesse Jaelson da Silva. The church in Cidade Industrial de Curitiba (CIC), in Curitiba, Paraná, held the training in their youth room on Monday through Thursday evenings, from January 30 to February 2.
Community members originally registered for the course through a health fair held by the Caleb Mission Project. The course was meant to provide practical skills to help community members increase their income, culminating with theoretical and practical tests for the participants. “We simulated a complete house installation, with a living room, a kitchen, a bedroom, and a bathroom,” explained da Silva in an article from the South American Division news site, adapted by ANN.
“I liked it because I learned a lot. The teacher teaches very well. It will help us to do some work and earn some money,” said Ryan Delgado Ferreira Lemes, one of the 21 students who completed the course and received a certificate at the graduation ceremony held on Sunday, February 5.
The church plans to continue offering classes for community members, with cooking classes and Bible classes coming up next, according to Pastor Carlos Máximo. It seems to be an incentive for community members to gather and improve their life skills and financial prospects.
The opportunity to learn an activity in order to obtain an income certainly encouraged Lemes. “If we have more courses to take, I will definitely be there,” he guaranteed.
