Aunty, I don’t agree with all the Fundamental Beliefs. What should I do?

Dear Aunt Sevvy,
What should I do if I disagree with some of the 28 Fundamental Beliefs?
Signed, Kinda On the Edge
Dear Edge,
Do you have a happy Adventist congregation where you meet Jesus in the company of others? If you’re able to ignore your differences with them (and to keep the peace, that may mean keeping silent about said differences), then go to church and be happy with your fellow believers.
There is nothing holy about this list of doctrines. Aunty believes, as did the pioneers of our church, that we have no creed but the Bible.
If you can’t ignore the differences, or if others in church won’t let you, then go somewhere else—a more accepting Adventist congregation, if available, and if there is none, then somewhere else. God understands.
