ATSS: Reinder Bruinsma on “The Church, Fake News, & Conspiracy Theories”
4 January 2023 |
Fake news and conspiracy theories are not new phenomena. They have been with us through the centuries. Jews, Muslims, Catholics, and secret societies have often been the subjects.
Today these stories play an ever bigger role. Religious people of the more conservative variety appear to be especially susceptible for all kinds of weird stories about what is happening behind the geo-political and religious scenes.
Does the traditional endtime scenario in Adventism perhaps create a fertile soil for conspiracy thinking and stimulate an eagerness in the minds of many Adventist believers to accept fake news?
Reinder Bruinsma will attempt to shed some light on this and other questions.

- Stick to the topic in both comments and chat discussion.
- Make your comments and questions short—don’t dominate.
- Keep your microphones muted unless you are called upon to make your comment or ask your question.
