Adventist Summit on Abuse
Everyone is invited to participate in an effort to deal with the problems of sexual and physical abuse in the church and in the world. It will be livestreamed on the Internet on Wednesday, 4 September, starting at 3 pm Eastern time.
Pretending that abuse does not exist in “my church, school, community or home” only perpetuates its continuance. Learn what to do and how to help.
Creating safe congregations and communities starts with being informed. Topics include spiritual abuse, helping the victim, secondary victims, bullying, intimate partner violence and prevention, among others.
The event is free but you must register in advance here.
The event is being organized by the denomination’s North American Division Women’s Ministries Department in collaboration with the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA). It will be based at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan.
On Thursday, 5 September, the event will be repeated in the Spanish language, again starting at 3 pm.
