Adventist Health Names Sam Leonor as Chief Mission Officer

Adventist Health has announced that Sam Leonor will take on the role of Chief Mission Officer (CMO) starting July 1, 2024. For the last five years, Leonor has worked as the mission identity and spiritual care executive at Adventist Health. In his new role, he will spearhead the integration of the health system’s core values, ethics, and mission into Adventist Health’s strategic plans and daily operations.
Kerry L. Heinrich, President and CEO of Adventist Health, shared his excitement about Leonor’s new role. “It genuinely warms my heart to have Sam step into this role, as I truly believe he is remarkably suited for the position,” Heinrich said. He highlighted Leonor’s knack for inspiring others and promoting kindness, respect, and collaboration.
Leonor will be responsible for leading Adventist Health’s strategy and discourse about ethics, alignment to mission, spiritual care, relationship to faith communities, and theological foundations of healthcare.
