AdventHealth CEO Announces Retirement After 40 Years
13 December 2024 |
After a 40-year tenure at AdventHealth, CEO Terry Shaw has announced his retirement, scheduled for July 2025. In a video message this morning, Shaw shared that despite the “positive momentum” of the organization, he recognized “the time is right to clear the path for the next generation.”
Shaw has accomplished a significant amount in his time as CEO. He proudly detailed it in the video to reflect and celebrate how far AdventHealth has come. One accomplishment has been uniting the organization under one cohesive brand, strengthening its identity and focus. The organization also adopted many new technology systems to improve the patient care system and has donated money and resources for outreach within the church and community at large.
Another legacy item Shaw helped establish during his tenure is Vision 2030, a 10-year strategic roadmap that creates the foundation for “long-term growth, financial strength, clinical excellence, value-based care, and long-term sustainability of its mission.”
In an official statement from the organization, they shared that AdventHealth’s Board of Directors has a succession plan in place and will begin an internal search for the next CEO in April 2025, allowing Shaw to train the new candidate while remaining on the board.
