ADRA Responds After Indonesia Tsunami
29 September 2018 | The Adventist Development and Relief Agency is urgently raising funds to respond to a powerful tsunami that killed over 400 people and affected thousands in the island of Sulawesi in northern Indonesia.
An ADRA International Facebook post today says, “NOW is the time to help! The most urgent needs include shelter, food, water and other basic necessities. All donations will go directly to the Indonesia Tsunami Emergency appeal.
The tsunami, triggered by a 7.5-magnitude earthquake on Friday, crashed into the coastal city of Palu, population 350,000.
Early Sunday morning, Indonesian Disaster Management Agency spokesman Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, said that, based on bodies found, the death toll was at 405 with over 400 seriously injured.
