ATSS: Christmas Eve Communion Service
22 December 2022 |
This is our annual ATSS communion service. Our service will be shorter than usual.
Please prepare your chosen bread and symbolic beverage before the service.
We will begin with a devotional presented by sisters Taneshia Kerr and Cherri-Ann Farquharson, “Faith as an Experience.” Explains Cherri-Ann,
Faith and fear cannot coexist. Some form of “fear not” is written in the Bible 365 times! What, then, does it look like to live a life of faith? How will our Christian walk be enriched if we practice the principle: faith, pray, jump?
In our communion service, each person provides their own bread and wine, and we partake together after a short worship. Naturally we don’t do a Zoom footwashing service, but you can do that on your own if you wish.
Preparation for Lord’s Supper:
- Select whatever bread you want to use to symbolize Christ’s body. If you want unleavened bread, you can use anything from crackers to pie crust to specially made communion bread. Some use regular yeast bread—it’s up to you. Remember: it’s a symbol, not a sacrament.
- Have ready whatever juice of the grape or fruit juice you prefer to represent Christ’s shed blood on your behalf.
- The communion will be at the end of our presentation & discussion, about 2:15-2:30 PM Eastern time. It will take about 15 minutes.
Presenters:
Taneshia Kerr is a pastor, a Licensed Christian Counselor and the Executive Director of the Enclave Stress Recovery Center.
Cherri-Ann Farquharson is a sustainable energy professional in the Caribbean.
Moderator:
Loren Seibold is the Executive Editor of Adventist Today.

About our class:
- The AT Sabbath Seminar is intended to be a courteous forum. We discuss and ask questions politely. We don’t accuse, get angry, put people down, or judge the state of their salvation.
- Stick to the topic in both comments and chat discussion.
- Make your comments and questions short—don’t dominate.
- Keep your microphones muted unless you are called upon to make your comment or ask your question.
- Indicate your interest in speaking by raising your electronic hand—under the “reactions” button.
- Please use your name when you sign in! Not your phone number, not your initials. This will help us differentiate you from unwelcome guests who want to disrupt us. You can set your name after signing on by clicking on the 3 dots next to your picture, which drops down a menu.
We look forward to getting acquainted with you!
