AT1 Speaker John McLarty Answers the Question “How Does Christ Challenge Culture?”
We can’t wait to hear former Adventist Today Executive Editor John McLarty speak for the AT1 gathering taking place October 4-6 in Portland, Oregon. John is Senior Pastor at Green Lake Church in Seattle, Washington and is Owner of Talking Rocks Geology Tours.
As with all our presenters, we asked John to answer the question, “How Does Christ Challenge Culture?” Here’s what he had to say:
Jesus spoke of God as a strong, competent, generous father–someone we would instinctively run to when trouble comes. Jesus challenged us to live as “children of God” by practicing radical generosity. Just as God sends his rain and sunshine indiscriminately, so we are to love indiscriminately, going even so far as to do good to our enemies. In the Kingdom of Heaven, the highest purpose of wealth is funding generosity.
