What? (That’s pretty easy.) Why? (Much harder!)
At Adventist Today, we enjoy getting the “what” right. That means we aren’t always first with the “what” but with very rare exceptions, we get it right!
At the top of our list of fun stuff is “Why?” We have staff and authors with long histories of church employment and engagement with the church and its organizational structure. So we’re not afraid to dive into the “why.”
And we work hard to get all sides, and provide context and analysis from a number of viewpoints. We enjoy good civil and spirited discussions. However, we don’t tolerate (either in our writers or commenters), viewpoints that demean either church leadership or those who disagree with them.
It’s hard work to look deep into a problem and understand it. We work very hard to be honest, straight forward, and even include humor when it clarifies a point! And we work equally hard to avoid glib, judgmental, irresponsible writing and comments no matter where they come from.
As you might imagine, we take great pride in what you are helping us accomplish! From feedback, both praise and criticism, many of you help us do our job better. And, equally important is how we pay for all of this. Many of us are volunteers (or very nearly so) but there are still expenses to keep this worldwide organization humming. And yes your generous support is the fuel for this organization!
We are asking for you to become a member at any of these levels:
Supporting Member: $75/year or $20/quarter
Sustaining Member: $169/year or $15/month
Advising Member: $549/year or $50/month
Of course, gifts of any size are welcome, but why would you want to miss out on the services you receive at the Supporting, Sustaining, or Advising Member level?!
