Protest Against Knife Crime Led by Adventist Church in London
12 November 2019 | An Adventist congregation in the Holloway area of London has led an anti-knife crime protest through local streets.
According to the Islington Gazette, the November 2 march was led by the Holloway Seventh-day Adventist Church youth and featured the congregation’s Pathfinder Drum Corp.
The march was intended to make a public statement condemning knife crime in the area, as well as showing solidarity with the community that has suffered significant violence.
Holloway Adventist church members have lost loved ones to knife crime on two separate occasions over the last three years. One of these loved ones, Nedim Bilgin, was stabbed to death in January and his killer is still at large.
The congregation held a similar protest in May. Pathfinders in the United Kingdom have taken a public stand against knife violence on a number of occasions this year.
