Orange County Adventist Pastor Suspected of Sexually Assaulting a Girl
18 March 2018 | Harold Dien, a 57-year-old Adventist pastor in Orange County, California is accused of sexually assaulting a girl in Loma Linda.
On March 16, Riverside County’s The Press-Enterprise reported that San Bernardino County prosecutors had charged Dien with two misdemeanor counts of annoying or molesting a child. The newspaper reported that Dien is a pastor at Laguna Indonesian Seventh-day Adventist Church in Luguna Hills.
The alleged criminal acts did not take place on church property. On February 5 a referral from Child Protective Services regarding potential child abuse was investigated. Dien was identified as the alleged perpetrator after interviews with a number of people including the child.
The pastor was interviewed Feb. 6, after which the case was sent for review to the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office. No court date has yet been announced.
Authorities have released Dien’s photo because they believe there may be more victims.
The Facebook page of Laguna Indonesian Seventh-day Adventist Church makes no mention of the accusations. The website listed for the church by its Facebook page is no longer working.
