One Thousand Participants to Join Southern Adventist University MLK Service Day
7 January 2020 | About 1,000 students, employees and alumni will help out their local community in honor of Southern Adventist University’s Martin Luther King Jr. Service Day scheduled for January 20.
The service day is a tradition of the university’s, aimed at helping Chattanooga-area organizations and community members.
According to The Chattanoogan.com, this year, the school joins forces with 45 entities including the American Red Cross, Chambliss Center for Children, Chattanooga Community Kitchen, Salvation Army, the Samaritan Center, and Sleep in Heavenly Peace.
A new partner for 2020 is Chattanooga-based Erlanger Health System.
During the event, student musical groups from Southern’s School of Music and other school entities will perform at Erlanger Medical Mall.
Southern Adventist University is an Adventist institution in Collegedale, Tennessee. It has about 3,000 students and offers associate, baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral degrees.
