No More Sea?

One of the places where I devoutly hope the Bible is not literal is Revelation 21:1, where John claims that in the New Earth “there will be no more sea.” For me, sitting by the sea, just watching waves, is one of the most soul-satisfying, healing, contentment-filled things I can do. I am getting my fix right now…as you read this, my sister and I are spending an unexpected gift of free plane tickets in Peru, and for the first week, we’re at Lima and spending a lot of time on the beach. Here’s a photo. It’s not Great Art, but it is a minor representation of one of God’s greatest works of art, and I do hope that work of art will exist throughout eternity!
