Southern Adventist University Awarded $3 Million Federal Grant
Southern Adventist University is set to receive $3 million over the next five years as part of the Department of Education’s Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions Program. This marks the largest-ever grant awarded to the university, which has a current enrollment of nearly 3,000. Full story at NAD News site.
Little Debbie Park Set to Open in Collegedale This Fall
The City of Collegedale announced the progress of Little Debbie Park and anticipates opening in Fall 2023, as the McKee family of McKee Foods Corporation has donated a 10-acre parcel of land for this purpose. Full story at the Local3 News site.
An Adventist Love Story Captured by K-Love Radio Station
According to the Oregon Conference site, the story of an Adventist couple named Athena and Kevin became a K-Love favorite, inspiring listeners across the country. Their story and photo were added to K-LOVE’s 40th Anniversary website at theklovestory.com and in March of 2023, the network sent a film crew to capture the story in person. In the middle of April 2023, Kevin and Athena’s story was brought to life in this short documentary video.
Finland Union Re-elects Aimo Helminen as President
Aimo Helminen was re-elected on Sunday 30 April, when 175 delegates met together in Tampere, Finland, for the Finland Union of Churches (FINUChC) Quadrennial Session. Representing the Trans-European Division (TED) were Daniel Duda (president), Nenad Jepuranovic (treasurer) and Ian Sweeney (field secretary). Full story at TED News site.
Visalia Medical Clinic Joins Adventist Health Physicians Network
