Southern Dedicates Land for Future School of Business
“Southern Adventist University students, employees, donors, and community members joined together on February 24 to dedicate land for a new building to house the School of Business. After opening remarks, the group formed a large circle around the future facility’s location and prayed together over the land.” Read full press release here.
Mt. Rubidoux Church’s Virtual Women’s Conference
Mt. Rubidoux Church in Southern California will be hosting its annual Women’s Conference on March 12 from 9am-5pm, virtually. This year the topic will be “Embracing Equity,” and seven female speakers will be featured from diverse professional backgrounds. More details can be found on Mt. First Greek-Speaking Church Established in Cyprus
On Sabbath, February 18, Adventist members across the island of Cyprus met in Nicosia to celebrate the birth of a new church. There has been at least one church group in Nicosia operating for many years, but with no building. Together, 19 members signed to commit to serving the church faithfully. Read more at ANN site.
ADRA and Procter & Gamble Address Menstrual Poverty
Currently in Brazil, there are more than 4 million who do not have access to minimal menstrual care items in schools. With this in mind, Procter & Gamble joined forces with the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) in Rio Grande do Sul to carry out a project for vulnerable migrant women currently living in the Porto Alegre region. The Vision Cathedral Provides LGBTQ Safe Space in Atlanta
Bishop Oliver Clyde Allen III has a theory: Churches that oppress LGBTQ people are not churches. Allen is the senior pastor and founder of The Vision Cathedral of Atlanta, which he began with his husband in 2005. Allen says his upbringing was “religiously diverse.” Throughout his childhood and teen years, his family members attended Baptist, Pentecostal, and Seventh-day Adventist churches.
