General Conference Launches New Website on Faith and Human Sexuality
“On December 6, 2023, the General Conference (GC) of Seventh-day Adventists launched www.humansexuality.org, which was designed and developed by the GC’s Human Sexuality Taskforce in efforts to help local and global church leaders address a wide range of topics that are impacting local churches and their communities.” Full story at Adventist News Network website.
Fire Breaks Out at Former Adventist Health Medical Center in Corcoran, California
“An early morning blaze destroyed a former hospital in Kings County. Action News video shows flames going through the roof at a former hospital in Corcoran. Around midnight on Monday morning, the Kings County Fire Department was called out to Hanna and Van Dorsten Avenues. “No-Shave November” Fundraiser Raises $15,000 to Support Loma Linda’s Cancer Research
“For a month preceding the event, members from the law enforcement agencies competed to grow out facial hair in hopes of earning a top title in seven categories: best eyebrows, best head of hair, best beard attempt, best mustache, best beard, whitest beard, and hairiest legs. Trevor Wright, interim CEO of Loma Linda University Health hospitals, and Nelson Carrington, Captain of the San Bernardino Police Department, announced winners during the fundraiser’s award ceremony.” Full story at Loma Linda University Health website.
Andrews Student Places Second in Bahamas National Arts Festival
“Khaylee Sands, a senior general studies major with a concentration in media studies, has had her film, The Deal, place second at the Bahamas National Arts Festival. The judges scored the film 96.3 out of 100 and affirmed Sands as a ‘budding filmmaker.'” Full story at the Andrews Agenda website.
