New York Inmates Sue to Watch Monday’s Solar Eclipse
“The suit filed Friday in federal court in upstate New York argues that the April 8 lockdown violates inmates’ constitutional rights to practice their faiths by preventing them from taking part in a religiously significant event. The plaintiffs…include a Baptist, a Muslim, a Seventh-Day Adventist and two practitioners of Santeria, as well as an atheist.” Full story at 10TV News website.
Former CEO of AdventHealth Dies at 92 Years Old
“Mardian J. Blair, who led AdventHealth (formerly Adventist Health System) from 1984 until 2000, passed away on March 26 at the age of 92 in Apopka, Florida, United States. He leaves behind a profound impact on the organization and in faith-based health care, particularly during a time of significant change in the health-care industry, organization leaders said.” Full obituary at Adventist Review website.
Adventist Brand “Sanitarium” in New Zealand Phases Out Breakfast Products
“Sanitarium in New Zealand will cease production of its muesli, granola, flake, clusters, and puff cereals by June 2025 under a new proposal, as breakfast eating trends in New Zealand shift consumer demand. General manager Michael Barton said research shows more than 20 percent of New Zealanders consume something in the morning besides traditional flaked breakfast cereal, mainly a hot drink or a portable liquid breakfast.” Full story at the Adventist Record website.
