Southern Adventist University Places Third in National Enactus Competition
“The Enactus chapter at Southern Adventist University won third place at the 2023 Enactus United States National Exposition, ranking in the elite 1 percent of more than 300 teams in the country.” They presented on “Akuna Soap Industry’s production of natural, affordable soap that equips women and youth in Zambia,” among other projects. Funds for Women Going to Adventist Colleges or Universities
“SOS is a scholarship initiative that provides funding for any female planning to attend a Seventh-day Adventist college or university in the division where she lives. Primary consideration is given to females in their last two years of their degree. Application deadlines are October 31st and May 31st of every year.” More at ANN site.
Portland is Next City Blanketed by “The Great Controversy” Books
One Portland commentator writes: “What succor can Portlanders troubled by random dog attacks and squatters’ den fires hope to take from The Great Controversy, written by Ellen G. White? The book purports to be a consideration of the growing influence of the Catholic Church on American life (a spicy topic in 1858) before pivoting to White’s contention that the most violent divide among Christians will soon be whether the Sabbath falls on Saturday or Sunday.” More at Willamette Week site.
Adventists in Germany Convene to Discuss Artificial Intelligence
Theologians, media experts, musicians, videographers, marketers and more met on May 7, 2023 at Hope Media Europe for the 12th Media Day in Alsbach-Hähnlein (near Darmstadt). Sydney Adventist Hospital Launches New Multiple Sclerosis Clinic
A new partnership between Sydney Adventist Hospital and the Australian National University is providing a place for “researchers, clinicians and people with lived experience of MS to develop new approaches to the personalized management of this condition.” A symposium on March 30 marked the launch of the research clinic.
