London Adventist Music Groups Sing Christmas Music for Parliament and Television
December 21, 2015: The London Adventist Chorale sang Christmas music in a performance last Monday (December 14) hosted by the speaker of the House of Commons, the Right Honorable John Bercow. The group presented several seasonal songs as well as leading the crowd in signing carols, a new bulletin from the denomination’s British Union Conference reported.
The music was interspersed with Scripture readings by the speaker and his chaplain, Rev. Rose Hudson-Wilkins. The speaker has a great deal of respect and enthusiasm for the group and invited it to perform several times in recent years. Earlier this year it was invited to do a concert in Parliament’s chapel and sang for a Commonwealth event.
During December a smaller group from the chorale, the Adventist Vocal Ensemble, is appearing weekly in the British Broadcasting Corporation’s Sunday evening Song of Praise program. Ken Burton is the arranger, accompanist and director for both groups.
