Hong Kong Adventist Health Foundation Raises $637K With “Women of Hope” Fundraiser
23 May 2018 | According to a Facebook post by Hong Kong Adventist Health Foundation, the organization’s 5th annual Women of Hope (WOH) Awards Fundraiser Luncheon raised over HK$5 million (USD 637,139) in donations to help patients without financial means and good access to care by providing them with PET/CT scans, MRIs, Tomotherapy, Mammogram and breast ultrasounds.
The event was held on May 18 at the JW Marriott Hotel in town. Over 400 guests, sponsors and event partners attended.
According to the post, the event “celebrated the achievements of eight inspirational women from different industries who were chosen by online public voting.” The women honored were recognized as individuals that had championed social justice causes.
The luncheon featured awards presentations as well as testimonials from cancer patients. Attendees made on-the-day pledges toward the HKAHF Cancer Fund.
The event was sponsored by Friends Of Asia Hong Kong, Stefere Jewellery, Northacre London, Cyrcadia Asia, Vestiaire Collective, KOTUR, Phase Eight and Hong Kong Tatler. Table seats were priced at HK$2,000 (USD 255).
According to the denomination’s Offices of Archives, Statistics and Research, the Hong Kong – Macao Conference of the Adventist Church has 19 churches and 4,627 members.
