Ghanaian Adventist Pastor’s Wife and Children Die in Fire
19 August 2018 | The wife, two children, niece and mother-in-law of an Adventist pastor in Accra, Ghana, have been killed in a house fire. The fire broke out in the home of Pastor Ato Kessie, the Dansoman District pastor.
It started between 5 and 6 a.m. on Sunday, August 19. Kessie was away at a church camp meeting at the time of the fire.
The house was located near the Methodist University in Accra. The cause of the fire has not yet been identified.
Kessie, is the assistant communication director of the denomination’s Accra City Conference. He is the son of former conference president, Anthony Kessie.
According to the Adventist denomination’s Office or Archives, Statistics and Research, the Accra City Conference has 23,833 members and 86 churches.
