GC Exec Secretary GT Ng Announces Retirement
1 April 2021 | General Conference Executive Secretary G.T. Ng has announced he will retire on June 1, 2021.
The news, released by Adventist News Network (ANN) via a March 31 tweet, quoted Ng as saying, “It has been my distinct privilege to work with you, and I truly treasure the countless encounters planning, and meeting together to enlarge God’s kingdom.”
G. T. Ng was elected Secretary of the General Conference in July 2010. In his role he served as an advisor to the Office of Adventist Mission, the Office of Archives, Statistics, and Research, the Institute of World Mission, and the Ellen G White Estate.
Ng holds a bachelor’s degree from Southeast Asia Union College in Singapore. He has a master’s degree from the Adventist Theological Seminary in the Philippines and a Ph.D. from the Theological Seminary at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan. He served the denomination in Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, and his native Singapore, prior to his current role at the General Conference.
