Here are some of the wonderful miniature buildings in the Folk Art Garden at the Calhoun Seventh-day Adventist church, created by DeWitt “Old Dog” Boyd and an army of volunteers. To learn more, see the feature, Calhoun Georgia Artist “Plays with Clay” for His Master
These miniatures remind me of the dwellings and animal shelters starkly adhering to some of the most forbiddingly dangerous grottos and precipices of the Andes Mountains, in Bolivia and Perú. These miniatures don't quite rise to the level of Machu Pichu redux, but the Essence of Andes is very much a powerful ambiance throughout and kindle memories of the unspeakable grandeur of those incomparable peaks among which we lived with the kin of the Incas.
