Dear Editor,

You were given a chance to correct a wrong position (“Aunt Sevvy,” 6 November 2020), and instead you chose to double down and justify your response by saying that lard in the piecrust is a minor issue, and we need to focus on bigger issues.

I am disappointed. We need to provide a clear picture of who we are, and that includes being a non-pig-eating people. It is not a minor distinction.

My choice not to eat pork has opened multiple opportunities to witness to people, and start their journey towards Christ.

It is ok to say we made a mistake.
