Catholic Charity Funds Climate Change Camp Organized by Adventist Church and ADRA Germany
20 May 2021 | The Adventist denomination and the German branch of Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) have joined forces with Katholischen Fonds, a Roman Catholic charity in Germany, to create a sustainability-focused camp that will teach campers about climate change.
Katholischen Fonds focuses on universal church and development-related educational and public relations work.
The sustainability camp will take place at the Adventist-owned Friedendau campsite July 9th to 11th, 2021. It aims to teach those attending to build everyday habits that support environmental sustainability. The event promises to highlight the social and ecological aspects of sustainability and to provide those concerned about the environment a place to network.
A report on the camp by APD (a German-language Adventist news service) says organizers want to take an intergenerational approach to teaching sustainability in a hands-on manner through family-friendly workshops.
Due to COVID-related restrictions, the sustainability camp is only accepting a small number of participants this year. If the event has to be cancelled, would-be campers will be refunded.
