ATSS: Daryl Gungadoo, “A Neuroscientist’s Perspective on Faith”
16 May 2024 |
Lao Tzu, the father of Taoism, suggested that our thoughts become words, become actions, become habits, shape our character, and become our destiny.
On this ATSS journey, we will explore tools that help us harness our thoughts, hack our brain to increase efficiency, productivity, creativity, and possibly spirituality. We will do a bit of a “show and tell” and demonstrate a practical hardware device with the ability to “watch,” in real-time, our thought processes, and “read” emotions.
Finally we will explore 4 types of biases:
- generational
- innovation
- learning
- cultural
and their application at a micro level when engaging with people around us, and at a macro level—especially pitfalls that establishments and churches often fall into, when disregarding these biases.

The class is intended to last about 2 hours, though the conversation often continues to 4 PM (Eastern time).
About our class:
- The AT Sabbath Seminar is intended to be a courteous forum. We discuss and ask questions politely. We don’t accuse, get angry, put people down, or judge the state of their salvation.
- Stick to the topic in both comments and chat discussion.
- Make your comments and questions short—don’t dominate.
- Keep your microphones muted unless you are called upon to make your comment or ask your question.
- Indicate your interest in speaking by raising your electronic hand.
- Please use your name when you sign in, so we know who we’re addressing.
We look forward to getting acquainted with you!
