Anticipating AT1–October 9, 2020
Could our anger with the world around us really be fear? Things are changing way too quickly, and we’re scared, but we express it as outrage. Jesus says that heaven’s love casts out all fear. Do you believe it?
We’re so delighted you’ve found Anticipating AT1. From our inspirational message, to our thought-provoking AT Trending News, to our melodic moment of music, we trust this short program adds value to your week.
To keep our hope alive that one day we will be back together again, we are providing virtual meetings, with a new edition every Friday. Anticipating AT1 is 10-15 minutes long, and can be viewed at any time. We hope it prompts personal reflection, and is a discussion catalyst with your family and friends as you talk with them in the safe ways you connect during these unusual times.
Host – Nancy Myers
Presenter – Dilys Brooks
Trending News – Jammie Karlman
Music – Elliana Ruybalid
By the way, we are looking for musicians who will bless us with a vocal number, an instrumental piece, or piano, or keyboard, or just guitar. Please make the arrangement about three minutes long. Email it to atoday@atoday.org. If we select your video, we will give you a link to download your file at production size. If you recruit a friend to do this, you’ll be doubly blessed!
Discussion Questions:
1. What are you afraid of right now? The pandemic? The election? Financial solvency? Health issues? Domestic abuse? Troubled teens? Other?
2. Have you talked about your fears with someone else? Have you invited that person (or someone else) to pray with or for you?
3. When things happen in life that make you feel helpless and vulnerable, what are some positive steps you can take to regain a sense of courage and control? Actually, is the feeling of being in control even necessary or helpful? Can you overcome fear without needing to be in control?
Be well, and love well.
