Southern Adventist University Partners with GNTC for Adult Learning
2 April 2025 |
Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) has partnered with Southern Adventist University (SAU) to provide GNTC students the opportunity to enroll in the online Adult Degree Completion (ADC) program.
Beginning March 1, 2025, GNTC students who have not yet completed a four-year degree can earn a bachelor’s degree online in as little as 18 to 24 months. Available programs include Business Management, Communication, Integrative Studies, Nursing (RN to BSN), and Psychology, depending on the number of transfer credits.
According to a statement by SAU, the Adult Degree Completion program is designed to be fully online with flexible learning options suited for working adults. Applicants must have earned at least 24 college credit hours, possess a minimum 2.0 GPA, and be 25 years or older (or living independently if younger). There is no age requirement to enter the Nursing RN to BSN program, which has its own specific entry requirements and delivery modes. Students may also earn college credit based on prior work and learning experiences, assessed through a learning assessment.
Southern Adventist University will offer a 10 percent discount to GNTC students who complete the requirements for an associate degree or to GNTC graduates who earned an associate degree within the last five years, provided they meet the program’s admission requirements.
Southern Adventist University’s Adult Degree Completion program will collaborate with GNTC’s Office of Career Services to host two annual ADC Open Houses at GNTC’s Floyd County Campus in Rome, Georgia. These events will offer additional information about the program to GNTC students.
The program aims to support continuing education for adults while acknowledging the challenges of full-time work, parenting, caregiving, or starting education later in life. With the needs of students in mind, the program’s easy credit transfer and flexible schedule enable students to achieve their goals while saving time and money, ultimately enhancing their opportunities for higher-paying jobs and careers in their desired fields.
