The Young Adults Congress (YAC) brought together more than 50 young professionals, researchers, and students from immigrant backgrounds over the first weekend of May. “The Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church officially inaugurated the Adventist Training Center (ATC) on May 8, marking a milestone in the Church’s ongoing efforts to expand mission-focused initiatives in the region. “Avondale University has been selected by Adventist Schools Australia (ASA) to lead a national research project designed to drive continuous improvement across its 48 schools and campuses. The multi-year commission will see Avondale’s Christian Education Research Centre (CERC) measure key factors such as school climate, student and staff wellbeing, and faith engagement, using data collected annually from students, staff and parents.” Read the full article here.

On Wednesday, May 21, the Good Neighbor Place thrift store in Apopka, Florida, caught fire in the early hours of the morning. Run by the Apopka Seventh-day Adventist Church, the store assists low-income and homeless individuals and shares the space with Orlando homeless outreach organization SALT (Service And Love Together) Outreach for monthly mobile services, such as showers, to those in need.
