Korean Union Conference Unveils Adventist Chatbot
4 June 2024 |
The Korean Union Conference has launched a new service called “Adventist GPT” to clear up misconceptions and provide accurate information about Adventist doctrine, history, beliefs, and lifestyle. This digital tool not only delivers details, but also offers educational and counseling services linked to Bible correspondence schools.
By aligning artificial intelligence with Adventist beliefs, developers have trained the AI on a comprehensive collection of official church documents and materials. Lee SangYong, the director of the Digital Evangelism department, emphasized that ongoing user feedback has been crucial in continuously refining the UI/UX.
The chatbot offers key benefits such as broadening outreach about Adventist doctrine, correcting misinformation, and clearly communicating the denomination’s stance on pertinent issues. It also supports non-face-to-face evangelism and automated counseling, which enhances user engagement and saves resources by automating responses to repetitive inquiries.
Available 24/7 and accessible from a variety of digital devices, “Adventist GPT” enables natural, seamless conversations, serving both church members and the general public. Users have reported high satisfaction with the chatbot’s accuracy in providing information, noting a marked improvement over the often-inadequate responses from general search engines and other GPT models.
“OPENBUS,” a partner company, has made significant contributions by providing pro-bono technical guidance and development, which has optimized the chatbot’s performance and usability. Moving forward, the department plans to continue refining “Adventist GPT” by integrating user feedback to strengthen the church’s evangelism and outreach efforts.
