[4:30 PM CDT] Orathai Chureson, director of Children’s Ministries, reported that Children’s Ministries has flourished thanks to Three Angels Messages funding—a General Conference initiative that bankrolls projects to help everyone, from toddlers to technophobes, grasp the core biblical messages of Revelation 14.
[3:10 PM CDT] Mike Ryan (GC) presents a message to introduce the Three Angels Message Report. Lots of beasts.
[3:36 PM CDT] Weimar’s Neil Nedley is reporting his discussion group’s ideas on Adventist identity: he says Adventists follow the Bible more closely than any other faith and says Adventists should get their kids to read about the life of Ellen White, which he claims is more exciting than any Hollywood movie.
[2:55 PM CDT] The delegates are huddling to discuss questions of Adventist identity.
[14:15 PM CDT] The afternoon business session has kicked off with Thomas Lemon as chair, and the #IWillGo strategic plan’s second pillar—Adventist Identity in Christ—is now on deck for presentation; follow along for live updates and try not to spill your Roma.
[11:57 AM CDT] Mark Finley makes a case for the importance of spending personal time with God. He wraps the session praying that we go forward “not debating business” but focused on connection with God. Time for lunch!
[11:30 AM CDT] During a prolonged devotional portion of programming, a delegate from the Chinese Union suggests adding community outreach and service to the next GC session, which would provide a more “winsome revival.” There is a growing impatience among delegates for the business items so far on the agenda in which church manual editing has dominated.
[11:00 AM CDT] Sikhu Daco and Mark Finley appeared onstage to offer a sneak peek at the four #IWillGo strategic plan presentations scheduled over the next two days. You could catch it all live here: https://youtube.com/@AdventistNewsNetwork
[10:00 AM CDT] Fireworks early on #GCSession2025: a frustrated young delegate asks for the GC session meetings to handle at least one thing that really matters to his generation.
[9:45 AM CDT]
This morning: Church Manual Agenda items are back for another round, courtesy of the church manual committee’s careful reconsideration. But first, delegates limber up with the daily calibration vote and a somber video from the Biblical Research Institute. Watch the action live: https://youtube.com/@AdventistNewsNetwork #GCSession2025
