How can I be an LGBTQ ally without endangering my employment?

Dear Church Worker:
Right now, as things stand in the church, you probably can’t—at least in most places. Be kind to your LGBTQ+ friends personally, but you dare not, if you want to keep your job as a church employee, advocate publicly for them.
But you can, and you surely should, let them know that you love and appreciate them for who they are.
