Swan Valley Adventist Church pastor Loren Pratt was named Community Citizen of the Year. His win is paired with the organization he co-founded, Midland Meals, Inc., receiving the Active Citizenship Award. News from the General Conference
The 2025 Spring Meeting of the General Conference (GC) ended on April 9 with the Executive Committee voting to approve guidelines for House Groups. The guidelines of House Churches or House Groups will be included in the official church manual, as well as official definitions of what constitutes a House Group compared to a Small Group. News from Brazil
“Almost 500 teenagers from cities in the central region of Brazil’s Rio Grande do Sul were called on March 29, 2025, to collaborate directly with the evangelism work of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Symbolically, they are part of the army called ‘Gideon’s 300,’ an initiative that has been taking place regionally in the three southern states of Brazil.” Read the full article here.

Gina Spivey-Brown will become the twelfth president of Oakwood University on July 1, succeeding Leslie N. Pollard, who has led the institution for the past 15 years. Spivey-Brown is the first female president in the university’s 129-year history. Read the full article here.
